If you have a question about this talk, please contact Jack Atkinson. Pydantic is the most widely used data validation library for Python, with the recent release of version 2 significantly improving its performance and updating the syntax. In this talk, I will introduce the library by showing the connections with type hints and dataclasses. I will then demonstrate the fundamental Pydantic concepts, including models, fields, and validators, and how to use these to build robust and maintainable Python applications that support complex data structures. Hybrid Zoom details will be emailed to the RSE mailing list; if you are not on the list, please contact the organisers. This talk is part of the RSE Seminars series.
