If you have a question about this talk, please contact Jake Harris. Plant immunity relies on both cell-surface and intracellular immune receptors. Recent studies showed that signaling triggered upon activation of these receptors is more connected than previously thought, and that both types of immune receptors can induce congruent cellular immune signaling outputs. Yet, the exact molecular mechanisms and components involved in the generation and regulation of such outputs are not fully understood. I will present our recent efforts to gain a better understanding of the molecular basis of early immune signaling, particularly that mediated by cell-surface receptor kinases acting as pattern-recognition receptors.
