On Thursday, 26th February 2008, 13:00 – 14:00 Dr Yoshifumi Nakata and Dr. Xingyuan Zhang will give a presentation on “Patent strategies of Japanese firms” Dr. Yoshifumi Nakata is a professor of strategic human resource management at the Graduate School of Policy and Management, Doshisha University, Kyoto, Japan as well as the Director General of Institute of Technology, Enterprise and Competitiveness at Doshisha University. He has published numerous articles and books on the strategic human resource management by the Japanese firms. He also serves on the committees and councils of various public organizations, including Ministry of Labour and Health, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. Dr. Xingyuan ZHANG is a professor of economics at Department of Economics, Okayama University, Japan. He has published numerous articles on empirical studies on innovation, technology spillovers and patent The seminar will take place in seminar rooms A + B at the Institute for Manufacturing (Mill Lane, Cambridge, CB2 1RX ).
