Universal autism screening can reduce disparities in access to early diagnosis and intervention, which is associated with improved outcomes and quality of life. Autism screening in toddlers usually involves administering a survey to caregivers regarding early signs of autism. Although such screening questionnaires are useful, mounting evidence suggests that this approach has limitations, including lower accuracy when used in real world settings and with caregivers from diverse backgrounds. This talk will focus on new digital health approaches to autism screening which can complement caregiver surveys and potentially increase the accuracy of autism screening.
