If you have a question about this talk, please contact Chris Richardson. The Met Office Unified Model is a state of the art general circulation model that is used operationally worldwide for weather forecasts and climate projections. Ensuring that the code is well tested is essential, and a comprehensive test harness is in place at the Met Office and partner sites to aid in development. However, what is available for UK academics and their groups, but do not have access to these resources? This talk will discuss running the Unified Model in a virtual machine environment, and will cover using this system for testing and training new users. This talk is part of the RSE Seminars series.
