Professor João Magueijo undertook his undergraduate studies at the University of Lisbon, and went on to complete his PhD at Cambridge University. Today, he is Professor of Physics at Imperial College London. He is an advocate of the Varying Speed of Light (VSL) Theory, which proposes that the speed of light was much higher in the early universe. He is also the author of several books and was the host of the Science Channel special João Magueijo’s Big Bang.
