What Might a Lung Cancer Screening Programme in the UK Look Like?

Results of the US trial of low dose CT screening for lung cancer and other studies are used to estimate likely positive and negative effects of a lung cancer screening programme.

We consider its potential in the spectrum of primary and secondary prevention interventions.

We discuss major unresolved issues, including the specificity of the screening, the frequency of screening and the most appropriate target population.
