The Cambridge University Energy Network is proud to invite you all to our first seminar of this academic year! Dr Filomena La Porta, Head of Smart Energy Supply, will introduce us to the the world of R&D in the energy sector and its challenges for the future: ‘We are facing three big challenges in the energy sector: climate change, security of supply and affordability. R&D has an important role in contributing to tackle these challenges. The aim of the talk is to illustrate the role of R&D in our organisation, our activities globally and in the UK along the energy value chain, from generation to transmission, distribution and supply. Examples of how we engage with the players in the UK energy landscape will be given as well as an introduction to the opportunities to be part of our exciting journey.’ See you Monday the 12th of November at 5:15pm at Lecture Room 4, Engineering Department!
