Barbara’s talk will cover firstly how she got the job at Google, and then she will walk you through what her day-to-day responsibilities are, how Google views product quality and what tools are used to build and safeguard this quality. One tool discussed in more detail will be Webdriver, a framework for automating browser tests. Bio: Barbara has been working for Google as a Software Engineer in Test, improving the quality of the AdSense product. She graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a first class BSc in computer science, after which she did an internship for Google as a Software Engineer. She returned to Edinburgh University to acquire an MSc in artificial intelligence, and was offered a full-time position at Google soon after.
