Note unusual time

This presentation is adapted from one given at the Cisco Green Research Summit in 2008. The presentation will describe the (no longer available) P.A. Semi PA6T -1682M dual-core PowerPC system-on-chip with particular emphasis on the power management features. The presentation also discusses some open problems at the system level, caused by the big difference between the power consumption seen in a running system and the worst case ‘thermal virus’ power consumption. In addition I will provide some reflections on the design of the part and planning in an engineering focused startup.

This talk is part of the Computer Laboratory Computer Architecture Group Meeting series.
