If you have a question about this talk, please contact . Outer space is a space of graphs originally introduced as a tool for studying the group of outer automorphisms of a free group. It gives rise to several chain complexes whose orbifold Euler characteristics can be computed by graph-counting methods inspired by quantum field theory. I will describe this, then outline recent results on the subtler question of determining the integral Euler characteristics of the quotient complexes. This is joint work with M. Borinsky.
