Infrastructure is destiny: We get the future we build. As we look for ways to incorporate sustainable thinking into our infrastructure planning and design, life cycle analysis (and other industrial ecology tools) are increasingly used for infrastructure assessment. This talk will explore industrial ecology thinking and tools for infrastructure planning, design and construction, the critical value these tools bring, and the way they break down when faced with infrastructure’s complexities.
