Since the publication of Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry in 1976, Mildred Taylor’s work has continued to inspire readers, teachers and researchers alike.
Join us for a two-day symposium exploring the literary and educational significance of this landmark text, along with related issues in children’s literature, teaching English Literature, and representation and diversity. You can book for either or both days.
The event will conclude with workshops on classroom issues including using cover art in the classroom and preparing for UK Black History Month in October.
