Clathrin and adaptor protein (AP) complexes are the major components of the coats on clathrin-coated vesicles (CCVs), but they are not the only components. We are using a combination of comparative proteomics and functional genomics to identify and characterise additional CCV machinery; and we are also investigating other AP complexes that are not associated with CCVs.
