Knowing how ocean currents behave, on the scale of a few kilometers, is important for both conducting marine seismic surveys and producing accurate climate models. In this talk I will outline the goals, motivations and necessary background, of a joint project between the British Antarctic Survey and Schlumberger to estimate ocean currents using the data from towed acoustic streamers.
