3. Healthcare product design - Design and Experimentation of a Pneumatically Actuated Vestibular Stimulator for Diagnostic Medical Tests

4. Service design - Design of pneumatic devices on high-speed automatic machines through a hybrid approach

BIOGRAPHY OF ALESSANDRO FREDDI

Born in 1939, Graduated in Electric Engineering Bologna University in 1963. Research Assistant at Bologna University, Visiting Scholar at T.H. Stuttgart (Germany) in 1966 and at T.U. Delft (Holland) in 1968, University Professor in 1975, Head of the Institute of Machine Design at Engineering Faculty of Bologna University in 1980, Consultant of Industrial Companies for Electrical Machinery since 1994. Organizer or coorganizer and teacher of several Summer Courses on Design for Quality, Engineering and Management, Engineering Design and Industrial Design Interaction for Technicians of Central European Countries, at Bologna University. Director of the Institute of Advanced Study (ISA) of Bologna University in 2003-2006, Member of Academy of Science of Bologna in 2008, Honorary Professor of Wroclaw University of Technology in 2010. Research interests in Engineering Design and Experimental Structural Analysis with more than 100 papers.

BIOGRAPHY OF GIORGIO OLMI

Born in 1976, Graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bologna in 2001, Ph.D. Material Mechanics and Technological Processes in 2005, Assistant Professor of Machine Design in 2008, Consultant of Automatic machinery industry. His research interests are in the general area of Experimental Mechanics and Reliability and Safety of Mechanical Constructions. He is author of about 50 papers.
