Abstract
Last October I presented a design for the TIME project’s message-oriented middleware. In the intervening year we have gone from requirements to code, which is now nearing public release. I’ll be discussing what went according to plan, what didn’t, and explaining the feature set we have today. The challenges included structuring 17000 lines of C++, making it portable to other languages, and dealing with concurrency problems. The current focus is on self-recovery after failures within the distributed system, and how to automate testing of distributed scenarios.
