A friendly discussion about scientist role in sustainability from a policy prospective hosted by Prof David MacKay and Dr Matthew Brown. Matthew Brown leads the Confederation of British Industry’s (CBI) work on energy and climate change and would like to explore what is the unique role of fundamental science in addressing sustainability challenges. Matthew obtained his PhD at the Cavendish before working in academia and government with roles at DECC and DEFRA on the frameworks for tackling climate change. All are welcome to attend.
