If you have a question about this talk, please contact Dr. Clarke Brunt.

Dick Newell, with others in Cambridgeshire, has been working to help reverse the decline in Swifts for some years, and he is one of the contributors to http://actionforswifts.blogspot.com/ where you can find information on how to help Swifts. His talk will include background information, the reasons for and nature of the decline, local activities (including the Cambridge Swift Tower), and things that you can do.

See also a BBC feature from 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwwnqcgZQ2o which is a good introduction to swifts, and features speaker Dick Newell at around 6 minutes in.

This talk is part of the Cambridge Natural History Society series.
