If you have a question about this talk, please contact Philip Woodall. Innovation Works (IW) is an international network of research laboratories responsible for driving the research and technology activities inside EADS . Innovation Works is divided into several Technology Capability Centers (TCCs) across different countries, not just in Europe but also in Asia and North America. In the UK, Innovation Works was founded in 2008 and is currently carrying out research in a wide variety of subjects in five different TCCs. This presentation will briefly review the activities of Innovation Works in general, and the United Kingdom in particular, and will go into details on the research undertaken by the TCC4 group “sensors, electronics and systems integration” based in Newport, Wales. In the TCC 4 UK , we are investigating data and intelligence fusion systems and communications. We are building tools to help the analysis of information from emergency services, automating the processes of command and control and creating systems for the fusion of entities present in reports, databases and witness descriptions. We are also creating wearable monitoring systems, using sensor information to judge the state of the agent or soldier, and to detect activities and personal attacks. Finally, in the communications area, we are investigating the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in communication networks. This talk is part of the DIAL seminars series.
