Chemistry-climate models (CCMs) have become an integral part of the UNEP /WMO assessments of ozone depletion. The talk will review their current use and capabilities in the light of the most recent assessment. In addition, the talk will discuss their role in the emerging issue of geoengineering. Different solar radiation management schemes have been proposed and CCMs are one way to assess their impacts. The talk will close with general considerations of model sensitivities, especially regarding the Asian Summer Monsoon.
