CUEN is delighted to welcome Dr Nick Baker to give a seminar entitled People and Sustainability. Nick will be talking about the impact of human behaviour and technical development on carbon emissions. A taster from his talk:

It is often said that it is not buildings that use energy, but rather the people in them. It is probably more accurate to say that people cause buildings, and other systems, to use energy. And whilst we have developed an almost complete understanding of the physics of energy flows in buildings, and can model it with some precision, we have a very imperfect knowledge of the impact of human behaviour in causing the building to use energy.

Please come along to listen to Nick talk about the technical development of low-energy buildings, why, when finally in use, these return disappointing results, and what needs to be done at the interface between people and the building. There will be a chance to ask questions after the presentation and refreshments will be provided. Sign-up here.

This talk is part of the The Cambridge University Energy Network (CUEN) series.
