In recent years, composite materials have been more widely utilised in a variety of applications, such as the aerospace industry, due to their excellent strength to weight ratio and the ability to customise their properties according to purpose. As a result, more research is required to better understand these materials as well as the adhesive joints between them. The Composites, Adhesives and Soft Solids (CASS) group at Imperial researches a number of areas, including but not limited to impact, sandwich structures, adhesive bonding and repair of composites.
