The three speakers in this session will provide an overview of solar power generation covering concentrated solar power (CSP) and photovoltaic developments. The following aspects will be covered:

  • Challenges and potential of concentrated solar power plants (CSP)
  • Development of a realistic roadmap for the large scale deployment of CSP in the world’s sun-belt
  • Analyse cost, technological maturity, and availability of required resources (based on realistic data from plants currently under construction)
  • Thin film solar technologies: prospects, opportunities, forecasts
