If you have a question about this talk, please contact Dr Antonio M. M. Rodrigues.

I will rehearse the debate concerning the pros and cons of NHS Health Checks (, an expensive and controversial national screening/cardiovascular risk reduction programme in which adults aged 40-74 years, without pre-existing conditions such as blood pressure or diabetes, are invited to attend for a ‘free midlife MOT ’ to assess risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease and receive appropriate advice and treatment.

This talk is part of the Wolfson College Science Society series.
