The Society of Spanish Researchers in the United Kingdom organises the 2nd Workshop 2014: “Academia & Industry: accelerating the impact of research”, which will be held next 18th of October at the Pavilion Hall in Hughes Hall College (Cambridge).

Our five guest speakers will discuss on the interplay between academia, industry and Government both in the UK and in Spain. There will be an emphasis about how a good idea from an academic laboratory can be translated into a business and the financial sources to support your research business. The day-to-day life of scientists in industry as compared with academia will also be discussed, among other issues such as what skills are required in industry if an academic is pursuing a career change or vice versa.

This talk is part of the Spanish Researchers in UK (SRUK)-Cambridge series.
