If you have a question about this talk, please contact Ann Waterman. Refreshments available from 4.15pm In 2008 a group of scientists from the Institute of Nuclear Sciences at the National Autonomous University of México (ICN-UNAM) created a science educational program for Mexican youth and teachers in four states: Programa Adopte Un Talento ( Program Adopt a Talent/PAUTA). Its basic goals were to improve science education and promote equity. This presentation explores the evolution of the learning and teaching methods which have been at the core of our educational practice. A constructivist approach to learning applied in extracurricular spaces and the diverse cultural and linguistic contexts in relation to the development of scientific abilities, are the central themes of this presentation.
