If you have a question about this talk, please contact Ulrike Balser. Patrick Bahners, the New York correspondent of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, will be speaking as a guest of the Department of German and Dutch. Patrick Bahners is well known for his engagement with key issues in German history and the way they are discussed in our time. Among his important publications is the book ”Die Panikmacher – Die deutsche Angst vor dem Islam”, which appeared in 2011. The subject of his talk on 14 February will be the author Sibylle Lewitscharoff, who won the Georg Büchner Prize in 2013, and her recent novel ”Blumenberg” (2011) – a highly entertaining anti-campus novel that engages wittily with the work of the philosopher and cultural theorist Hans Blumenberg. The talk will be followed by a small reception. Visitors will be very welcome at the lecture. This talk is part of the Department of German and Dutch series.
