DESCRIPTION:*Patrick Bahners*\, the New York correspondent of the *_Frankf
 urter Allgemeine Zeitung_*\, will be speaking as a guest of the Department
  of German and Dutch.\n\nPatrick Bahners is well known for his engagement 
 with key issues in German history and the way they are discussed in our ti
 me. Among his important publications is the book "_Die Panikmacher – Die
  deutsche Angst vor dem Islam_"\, which appeared in 2011.\n\nThe subject o
 f his talk on 14 February will be the author Sibylle Lewitscharoff\, who w
 on the Georg Büchner Prize in 2013\, and her recent novel "_Blumenberg_" 
 (2011) – a highly entertaining anti-campus novel that engages wittily wi
 th the work of the  philosopher and cultural theorist Hans Blumenberg. The
  talk will be followed by a small reception.\n\nVisitors will be very welc
 ome at the lecture.\n
