Energy Innovation Beyond 2013: A talk by the Global Director of BP Ventures This event is brought to you by CU Arab Innovation Network and Engineers Without Borders Cambridge Location: LT2 , CUED (Cambridge University Engineering Department) Time: 1:00- 2 pm About the speaker: Issam Dairanieh is the Global director of BP Ventures. Issam heads-up the team that makes strategic investments in emerging energy technologies of interest to BP. The Ventures team started investing in renewable power generation, energy efficiency, energy storage, Biofuels and Carbon Management. But since 2011, the team has expanded its scope beyond Alternative Energy to cover both downstream and upstream oil and gas emerging technologies. Since its establishment in 2007, BP Ventures made over 30 direct and indirect investments. In addition to team leadership, deal origination and execution, Issam participates in portfolio management and currently serves on the board of eight companies, either as a director or an observer.
