If you have a question about this talk, please contact pg247.

We will be discussing a paper by Steve Gull and John Skilling entitled “The Maximum Entropy Method” (in `Indirect Imaging’, ed. J. A. Roberts (1984)), which introduces a highly intuitive and entertaining Kangaroo argument for the reasonableness of the principle of maximum entropy.

I have distributed printed copies of the paper to recent attendees of the reading group; please let me know if you would like a copy.

For those not based at the Cavendish, please come into the Astrophysics tea room beforehand to get a coffee.

This talk is part of the Probability + Information Reading Group series.
