The South Asia Film Club at the Centre of South Asian Studies is a new fortnightly project that brings a selection of films of South Asia – old and new, features and documentaries, from the mainstream to the margins – to the University of Cambridge.

The club premieres on Tuesday 26 February at 6:30 p.m. with a screening of Pinjar (Chandra Prakash Dwivedi, 2003). Based on a novel by Amrita Pritam, Pinjar tells the tale of a group of characters caught up in the turbulent times of Partition in 1947. The film will be shown with English subtitles.

Please note that attendance is free but places are limited to 15 – please email us at southasiafilmclub at gmail.com to confirm a place. For those of you who would like to have dinner, food is allowed inside.
