The speakers for the 2012 Annual Race Equality Lecture, which is held as part of the University’s celebrations for Black History Month, are Baroness Haleh Afshar and Ekow Eshun. The lecture will explore the impact of BME visibility and aspiration and consider the issues of race equality and leadership.

  • Baroness Haleh Afshar, Professor in Politics and Women’s Studies at the University of York and member of the House of Lords
  • Ekow Eshun, writer, journalist, broadcaster and former Artistic Director of the Institute of Contemporary Arts
  • Robin Landman OBE , Network for Black Professionals
