The lecture will be in two parts: 1) The use of Tissue doppler imaging (TDI) including strain and strain rate and Speckle tracking echocardiography to assess myocardial performance in dogs with degenerative/myxomatous mitral valve disease or DCM and in cats with HCM and hypertension. 2) The use of Real-time 3-dimensional echocardiography to assess left ventricular and left atrial volumes and ejection fractions in dogs with mitral valve disease and in healthy control dogs.
