If you have a question about this talk, please contact rld46. The Arctic is warming at four times the global average and concurrent with warming, satellite observations show a greening of the land surface. Remote sensing provides essential insights into broad-scale ecological dynamics in the Arctic, but can also contribute to environmental narratives that do not always correspond with observations from the field. Here I discuss Arctic greening, and introduce ongoing projects that explore top-down and bottom-up drivers of terrestrial vegetation change across multiple scale domains.
