At the next Hat Club event at Hughes Hall, Laurence Bell will speak present ‘An Introduction to Space Elevators’.

8.15pm in the Pavilion Room, Hughes Hall.
“Why use rockets to go into space when you can just take the lift? This talk will introduce the concepts involved in designing and building a permanent structure which extends 1/10th of the way to the moon, and some of the current research surrounding it.
