In the midst of a pandemic, health services have been stretched and changed in a way that has not been experienced before. Such pressure and organisational change risks dramatically worsening the experience of both healthcare professionals, and of patients. In a worse case scenario, health outcomes for patients and communities could deteriorate. What if there was something that could help? This talk will explore the concept of compassion and its impact on the human body. Existing research will be presented for consideration, followed by a personal account of using these approaches locally.
