Abstract
This week, we will discuss Sparse Feature Learning for Deep Belief Networks by Ranzato, Bureau and Le Cun.
It might also be interesting to look at at Yann Le Cun’s talk at (M)NIPS, on sparse feature detectors and a paper by nearly the same group of authors, Unsupervised Learning of Invariant Feature Hierarchies with Applications to Object Recognition, using a convolutional approach.
Series This talk is part of the Machine Learning Journal Club series.
