Solar cells are making the transition from niche technology to a major player for energy generation. But are current technologies enough to meet global demand? In this talk we will examine current solar cells technologies and their limitations, both technological and economic and then discuss what is on the horizon, what new science and technologies could push solar into a new era where we eliminate the use of fossil fuels altogether.
