Free to attend, Open to all Author and investigative journalist, Nafeez Ahmed has been a visiting fellow at the GSI since 2015, helping widen our understanding of resource crisis and social/ economic risks. His latest book, Failing States, Collapsing Systems, sets out the warning signs for state failure in a new era of energy decline, with increased risk due to the interlinked environmental, energy, food and economic crises. Join us for a talk by Nafeez at the launch of this book and at a critical point in net energy production globally, to find out how intrinisically energy and climate change are linked to state security- as much in Europe and North America as in failed states like Syria and Yemen. ‘Failing States, Collapsing Systems: BioPhysical Triggers of Political Violence’ by Nafeez Ahmed is available now from Springer drinks reception and book signing from 5pm
