Sammi Whittaker was President of Anglia Ruskin Students’ Union 2015-2016. Now she is finishing her degree in Media Studies and her legacy is assured: her encouragement and enthusiasm for our University to embrace more ‘green’ initiatives has been instrumental in our bid for the ambitious accreditation from the NUS , Responsible Futures. This award is given to universities that are able to demonstrate a commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. And our own Education for Sustainability (EfS) team has been busy working with the SU to make sure we get it – audit is being conducted November 15-16 so watch this space. In this talk, Sammi explains why she supports RF, explaining the important role higher education has in preparing students for the future and calling for the kind of actions that make universities fit for the 21st Century. Free to attend, open to all, lunch provided
