Owen Mountford, a wetland plant ecologist at the NERC Centre for Ecology & Hydrology and a naturalised Fenman, will describe the project, which he jointly co-ordinates with Jonathan Graham, to record the wild plants of the Fenland Basin. This huge area is perceived as monotonous and has been largely under-recorded by botanists for a century. Our project seeks to redress that neglect, and to explore how a history of drainage, reclamation and agricultural intensification is reflected in its current flora.
Tea, coffee, and biscuits are provided from 7:00pm
