If you have a question about this talk, please contact Enterprise Tuesday. The session on 22nd November looks at how the vision needs to meet with reality. The entrepreneur needs to be true and wedded to their beliefs and vision for the business venture, but also, to be open to learning and taking feedback. Dr David Cleevely, founder of Analysys and co-founder of Abcam; and Jonathan Milner, co-founder of Abcam and Chairman of Cambridge Temperature Concepts, are both experienced entrepreneurs. They talk about understanding the importance of being flexible with business models in the early days, knowing when to stick to the vision and when to be flexible. When? 22nd November 2011. Registration is from 18:00. The lecture starts at 18:30. Networking from 20:00. Refreshments are provided. Where? University of Cambridge Department of Engineering, LT0 , Trumpington Street, Cambridge Registration: Please register online at http://www.cfel.jbs.cam.ac.uk/programmes/enterprisetuesday/register.html David Cleevely has helped to start many businesses. He has been central to the establishment of the Cambridge Network, is a serial angel investor and his dynamism has enabled very healthy multiple exits from ventures. Jonathan Milner was a first time entrepreneur – selling antibodies from his laboratory. He is one of the very few people in Cambridge who has taken an idea from his bicycle basket to the stock market! Most entrepreneurs give up their position to so-called ‘professional’ CEOs, but Jonathan has stayed the course and has now invested some of his gains in over 20 ventures. So, he too is now a serial investor and backs it up by mentoring and holding board positions.
