Leading scholars including Professor Briony Fer (University College London) and Professor Jonathan Katz (State University of New York) will present new research and lead discussion about Agnes Martin’s work. The day will Include an examination of her links to other women artists of the time and of the part her lesbian sexuality may have played in her particular development of abstract painting. Venue, Woodleigh Room, Lucy Cavendish College followed by a reception and late view of the exhibition at Kettle’s Yard. This is a “Women’s Word” event, organised in conjunction with Lucy Cavendish College. Tickets will be available from 15 April.
