Type 1 Diabetes research, before and after association studies

I will first talk about the recent wave of successful association studies for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) and more generally for multi-genic complex diseases. I will then show how these new genetic findings are transforming medical research, and what the next steps should be to better understand these diseases.
