The talks will be about 30-45 minutes long, and questions are encouraged which open up new avenues for discussion. Tea and biscuits will be provided. George Orwell’s Politics and the English language; EB White’s The Elements of Style; The Chicago Manual of Style; checklists; template documents; How to Write a Scientific Paper. Endless miles of text have been written in the effort to promote better writing… and some of it is worth reading. In this talk I will recommend some good sources to inspire better writing – mainly aimed at research students.
