Measuring Designing: Design Cognitiometrics, Physiometrics & NeurometricsAdd to your list(s) Download to your calendar using vCal
If you have a question about this talk, please contact Mari Huhtala. This talk introduces the notion of empirical measurements of designing and contrasts it with design theory. It describes three categories of measurement: 1. Design Cognitiometrics: the measurement of design cognition, generally using protocol analysis; 2. Design Physiometrics: the measurement of the designer’s physiology while designing using sensing devices; and 3. Design Neurometrics: the measurement of the designer’s neurophysiology while designing using non-intrusive brain activity capture. The talk presents examples from each of the three categories and closes with implications for designers and for design theories. This talk is part of the Engineering Design Centre Seminars series.
