Born on 30th December 1988, Jasiek Mela is a Polish explorer who reached the North Pole in 2004 and eight months later the South Pole, making him the youngest and the only disabled person in history to achieve this. In 2008 he climbed the Kilimanjaro, and subsequently established the “Poza Horyzonty” Foundation, whose aim is helping accident victims. In 2009 Jasiek also climbed Mount Elbrus—the highest mountain in the Caucasus Mountains.
