A graduate of Selwyn College, Cambridge, he was Member of Parliament for Bermondsey and Old Southwark from 1983 to 2015, serving as Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats from 2010 to 2014. This event is part of the Madingley Conversations series of talks on ‘The Future of Lifelong Learning’. It takes place at Madingley Hall, home of the University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) – a pioneering centre for personal enrichment and professional development continuing education. The event will take the form of a lecture followed by a question and answer session, lasting around one hour in total. This will be followed by a buffet reception where you can meet the speaker and chat with other members of the audience.
