If you have a question about this talk, please contact David Coomes. Lianas are a group of large woody vines that remain among the most understudied major growth forms despite being a prominent characteristic of almost every tropical rainforest. While their responses to logging and impact on carbon storage have received significant research attention over the past decade, little is known about how lianas respond to habitat fragmentation and global changes, what limits liana biogeography or how liana mycorrhizal associations differ from trees. My PhD project aims to address those questions and in this talk I will present the progress I have made over the past nine months and the future directions I plan to take over the next two years.
